Big Bangs from Big Science Show

What happens when we combine water and extreme temperatures? We’ll find out when we experiment with very hot and cold temperatures and get explosive, and implosive, results!

NEORSD Wonders of Water Workshop
Location: Spark Space, Harbor (lower) Level
11 a.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday
Experience the wonders of water in this fun, hands-on family workshop sponsored by the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District (NEORSD). Things get wet during this exploration of microorganisms, water filtration and other technology that help make our lake great.

Liquid Nitrogen Ice Cream Demonstration
Location: Auditorium, Harbor (lower) level
1 and 4 p.m. daily
Learn about the states of matter in this deliciously fun demonstration and enjoy the results of our experiment.

Boat Float Engineering Challenge
Location: Traveling Exhibition Foyer, Lower Level
11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and 1-4 p.m. Sunday
Design and engineer your own wind-powered boat and join the regatta! Test its buoyancy and let it sail down the course. Try again with a different design and attempt to beat your own time.

Sticky Water: Adhesion versus Cohesion
Location: BioMedTech Gallery, Level 1
11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and 1-4 p.m. Sunday
Water molecules stick to almost everything -- the table, your hand, paper and even other water molecules! How many drops of water can you fit on a penny? Explore the properties of adhesion and cohesion and even make a drawing come to life!
