Cuyahoga50 FREE Admission Day
As part of the celebration of Sustainable Cleveland’s Cuyahoga50 at North Coast Harbor, Great Lakes Science Center will offer FREE general admission to all guests from noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday, June 23, courtesy of ArcelorMittal.
The harbor will come to life as the area around the Science Center and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame are filled with activities, science shows, hands-on activities and community partner booths.
Participating partners in the Cuyahoga50 at North Coast Harbor day include the Cleveland Water Alliance, Sea Grant, Alliance for the Great Lakes, Share the River, National Park Service, Cleveland Metroparks, Western Reserve Land Conservancy, West Creek Conservancy, Conservancy for Cuyahoga Valley National Park, Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District, Rust Belt Riders, Oberlin Environmental Dashboard, the Port of Cleveland and NASA.
Harbor Level, Outside
Explore underwater and navigate through an obstacle course without getting wet as you learn about underwater robotics and how this technology is changing the way we explore beneath the surface. Take a turn operating the ROV (Remotely Operated Vehicle) or watch as others take the wheel.
Front Lawn, Main Level, Outside
Get your hands wet as you make bubbles and explore the properties of gases, shapes, colors, and water. Will you make the biggest bubble of the day?
Cleveland Creates Show, Level 1 at 1:15 p.m.
What is fire and how can we catch water on fire? Through experimentation and exploration, we uncover the mysterious properties of fire and learn about the chemistry and combustion of various materials.
World of Water Big Science Show
Harbor Level, Outside at 3:15 p.m.
We use science to explain some of water’s most incredible properties. From making clouds appear before your very eyes to launching and crushing everyday objects. This demonstration is sure to “whet” your curiosity!
