CLEVELAND (May 7, 2026) – The 1997 Academy Award winning “Titanic” is returning to the Cleveland Clinic DOME Theater on May 21 in conjunction with the grand opening of TITANIC: The Artifact Exhibition, which features over 200 authentic artifacts recovered from the wrecksite that tell the story of the Ship, her passengers and crew.
 
Staring Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCapro, the film’s romance is set against the glamor of the legendary Ship and her tragic sinking. Moviegoers can arrive early and pair their cinematic experience with a ticket to the exhibition to learn more about Titanic’s real passengers and crew.  
 
The film took home 11 Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Original Score and Best Original Song. The star-studded cast includes Winslet, Dicaprio, Billy Zane, Frances Fisher, Kathy Bates and Bill Paxton.
 
The DOME Movies After Dark summer line-up continues with: 

  • June 18 – “Jaws” – based on the novel by Peter Benchley and directed by Steven Spielberg, this 1975 classic swims back to the big screen this summer. “Jaws” stars Roy Scheider, Richard Dreyfuss and Robert Shaw in a hunt for a great white shark attacking beachgoers in a New England resort town. In 2001, it was selected by the U.S. Library of Congress for preservation in the National Film Registry in recognition for its status as a landmark horror film and the first “summer blockbuster.” The film’s original score is instantly recognizable and earned composer John Williams the Academy Award, a Golden Globe, a BAFTA Award and a Grammy.  
  • July 9 – “Superman” (2025) – scenes from the movie were filmed locally, with Cleveland playing a starring role as the city of Metropolis and Mentor, Ohio’s Headlands Beach serving as the setting for one of the film’s key action scenes. Directed by James Gunn, it stars David Corenswet, Rachel Brosnahan, Nicholas Hoult, Edi Gathegi, Anthony Carrigan, Nathan Fillion and Isabela Merced. 
  • July 30 – “Project Hail Mary” – released in March, is based on the 2021 book by Andy Weir. Ryan Gosling stars as a middle-school science teacher and former molecular biologist who works with an alien to save both of their home worlds.
  • August 20 – “One Battle After Another” – this year’s Oscar winning Best Picture follows a former revolutionary drawn back into battle 16 years later. Staring Leonardo DiCaprio, Sean Penn, Benicio del Toro, Regina Hall, Teyana Taylor and Chase Infiniti, the film was listed as one of the 10 best films of 2025 by the American Film Institute and earned the Critics’ Choice Award and Golden Globe awards for best picture. 
  • September 24 – “Contact” – the 1997 science fiction drama follows a SETI scientist who finds evidence of extraterrestrial life and is chosen to make first contact. Based on the book by Carl Sagan, the film stars Jodie Foster, Matthew McConaughey, James Woods, John Hurt, Tom Skerritt, Rob Lowe, Jake Busey and Angela Bassett.

 All movies start at 6 p.m. and tickets are $10.95 for adults and $8.95 for children aged 2 to 12. The Science Center is now open late on Thursday nights, so guests can come early and explore the exhibits, including the NASA Glenn Visitor Center.
