March Math(ness) Month
Factor in the fun as we celebrate math with a number of integral activities. Watch us maximize motion as we launch items on an angle in our Math in Motion Science Show! Discover the symmetry of the anatomy of a frog in our Frog Dissection Workshop and learn how to separate color using advanced tools in our PPG Color Lab Workshop. All activities are included with general admission unless otherwise noted.
Math in Motion Science Show
Saturdays and Sundays, 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
Explore math in a fun and relatable way as we demonstrate how forces, energy, and math unite in this high-flying demonstration.
PPG Color Lab Family Workshop ($10 per person)
Saturdays and Sundays at 3 p.m.
Using different wavelengths of color, guests will experiment with SpecDrum rings and the spectrophotometer. Learn how light is measured in wavelengths, chart the measurement of a color solution in nanometers and compete for the highest transmittance rate. This workshop was developed through a grant from the PPG Foundation. PPG is a supplier of paints, coatings, optical products, and specialty materials. Advanced registration is recommended. Register here.
Health and safety procedures will be in place for all shows and workshops, including facemasks for all staff and participants, social distancing and seating with household groups only. PPE including goggles, gloves and lab coats will be provided as needed.
