October is Chemistry Month, sponsored by PPG.
We can't wait to see your reactions as we mix up some explosive fun with chemistry in October! All activities are included with general admission unless otherwise noted.

Chemical Concoctions Big Science Show
Wednesday - Friday: 1 p.m.
Saturday: 11:30 a.m.
Sunday: 12:30 p.m.

How predictable are chemical reactions? Can we determine what is happening in a reaction from observing its results?

BASF pH Cart

Watch the colors of common household liquids change color right before your eyes! Learn about acids, bases, and how their properties determine how they interact!

PPG Color Lab
Saturday - Sunday: 3 p.m.

Can science tell us how color is composed? Why do colors look the way they do? Use a spectrophotometer to measure your own mixture of color! Register here.

Family Dissection Workshop: Heart Dissection ($10 per person, $8 members)
Saturday - Sunday: 1 p.m.

Take a tour of the body’s pump with this dissection of a pig heart! Cut into the heart to reveal the four chambers, peer into the aorta, and inspect blood vessels up close. Register here.

STEM Storytime & Lab: Mix it Up!
Wednesday: 11 a.m.
Perfect for little scientists, join our STEM staff for a special story and hands-on activity! Bubbles, color mixing, baking soda & vinegar. We’re mixing things to make something new.
