The Institute of Museum and Library Services announced today that Great Lakes Science Center is one of 15 museum finalists for the 2021 National Medal for Museum and Library Service.

CLEVELAND (July 24, 2020) – As school districts across Northeast Ohio adapt to the pandemic, many parents may be left wondering how a virtual or hybrid week of at-school classroom instruction and at-home online learning will impact their family and schedule.

CLEVELAND (June 11, 2020) – With the establishment of guidelines from the Ohio Department of Health, Great Lakes Science Center is reopening June 19 with the premiere of the special exhibition, Body Worlds Rx! The groundbreaking anatomical exhibition reveals the marvels of the human body and the dramatic effects of disease.

CLEVELAND (January 24, 2020) – Great Lakes Science Center celebrates the innovative spirit of countless engineers, scientists, inventors and astronauts through its exhibits and programs every day. On Saturday, March 7, our guests have the chance to be a part of that innovative spirit at the inaugural Great Science Gala!

CLEVELAND  (December 10, 2019) – Great Lakes Science Center’s Board of Directors today elected board member Steve Karklin to serve as the ninth chairperson in the museum board’s history. Karklin succeeds outgoing Chairman David Peace. 
 

CLEVELAND   (November 25, 2019) – The North Pole awaits! The modern holiday classic “The Polar Express” returns to Great Lakes Science Center for two special Pajama-Rama screenings this December, from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, December 14 and Saturday, December 21 in the Cleveland Clinic DOME Theater.  
 

CLEVELAND  (November 22, 2019) – NASA’s Orion spacecraft will soon transport the first woman and next man to the moon as part of the Artemis I mission. But before that can happen, the capsule will undergo environmental testing at NASA Glenn’s Plum Brook Station in Sandusky, Ohio. The thermal tests being conducted at Plum Brook will subject the spacecraft to the rigors of space travel.  
 

CLEVELAND  (November 19, 2019) – Don’t let your kids get frozen to the couch during their winter break from school this year! Bring them down to Camp Curiosity at Great Lakes Science Center for a hands-on day packed with interactive science camp activities! 
 
Kicking off on Thursday, December 26, the Science Center has six different themes for kids in kindergarten through eighth grade to choose from, including LEGOs, robots, rockets, chemistry, engineering and physics! Camps run December 26, 27, 30, 31 and January 2, 3. 
 

CLEVELAND  (November 1, 2019) – Snoopy, the world’s most famous beagle, is coming to Great Lakes Science Center on Thursday, November 7 to help celebrate NASA’s mission to land the first woman and next man on the moon. 

NASA’s Glenn Research Center will make the day extra special by presenting free admission for all Ohio schools.
