In honor of the Martin Luther King Jr Day holiday, Great Lakes Science Center will offer FREE general admission to all guests from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, January 20.
Come check out Dogs! A Science Tail, a hands-on science exhibition highlighting the unique bond between humans and dogs, allowing guests to experience the extraordinary way that dogs see, hear and smell the world. In conjunction with this special exhibition, members of the Northern Ohio Volunteer Chapter of Canine Companions will be on hand to talk with guests about training service dogs to work with adults, children and veterans with disabilities as well as facility dogs that work in healthcare, criminal justice and educational settings.
The Science Center will have special programming throughout the day, including live science shows such as Bubblemania and Seeing Sound, and NASA Glenn’s African Heritage Advisory Group will be present to discuss career and internship opportunities within the agency. Guests can also participate in hands-on activities while learning about NASA’s contributions to aeronautics and space exploration. Additional science cart activities will allow guests to learn about dog vision, string resonance, and more.
General admission at the Science Center includes the NASA Glenn Visitor Center, the Polymer Funhouse (for those 7 and younger), the Dogs! A Science Tail exhibition and hundreds of hands-on, interactive science exhibits.
Movies in the Cleveland Clinic DOME Theater will be discounted for the event. Adult and youth tickets will be $5.
Parking is available for a reduced rate of $9 per vehicle in the Science Center’s attached garage. Due to the potential for large crowds, the Science Center’s front drive parking spaces will all be converted to spaces for vehicles with handicap placards or license plates. Additional parking beyond the Science Center’s garage is available in the surface lot north of FirstEnergy Stadium.
