Great Lakes Science Center is fun for the whole family – and we want to make sure everyone has a safe and comfortable visit! The Science Center building, including the Cleveland Clinic DOME Theater, is fully wheelchair accessible. Don’t see what you’re looking for? Call 216-694-2000 to speak with a Science Center representative! Please note that due to its historic nature, the Steamship William G. Mather is not wheelchair accessible.
Service Animals: Guests with disabilities are welcome to bring their trained service animal to the Science Center. Pets, therapy dogs, and emotional support animals are not permitted.
Sensory Space: A newly developed sensory regulating space is located on Level 2. The space features lower lighting and adaptive materials, including hands-on interactives, fidget materials and weighted blankets, inside the room. Noise-reducing headphones are available for loan at the Box Office. GLSC for Me, a special museum-wide sensory sensitive experience is available every Sunday from 10 a.m. to noon starting Sunday, April 13 2025.
Wheelchair Rental: Free wheelchair rental is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Caregiver Admission: A caregiver accompanying a guest with a disability or other special accommodation receives free admission. Please let Box Office staff know upon arrival.
DOME Theater Accessibility: Accessible seating and closed captioning are available. Please contact the Box Office for further information.
Elevators: Elevators are available to ensure safe access to every floor.
Food Allergies: We offer gluten-free and vegetarian options. Call 216-694-2000 for more information or visit our dining page.
Locker Availability: 50 lockers are available at the lower level entrance from the parking garage. Lockers are $3 for rent (including opening/closing throughout the day). The lockers are Visa, MasterCard, Amex or Discover friendly!
Lost & Found: If you lose an item while visiting the Science Center, please contact our Box Office at 216-694-2000.
Nursing: Guests are welcome to nurse throughout the Science Center. A fully accessible Mamava lactation pod is available on Level 2 of the Science Center for those wanting a private or quiet area.
Outdoor Picnic Areas: Enjoy lunch with a great view of Lake Erie and Northcoast Harbor.
Parking: Great Lakes Science Center has an attached 500-car parking garage. Science Center guests may pay for parking at the Box Office. Accessible parking spots and direct entry into the Science Center are available on the lower level of the garage. Be sure to have your ticket validated at the Box Office for discounted parking! Restrooms: All restrooms are ADA accessible and have child diaper changing stations. Family restrooms are available on Level 2 of the Science Center.
Strollers: Strollers and wagons are welcome throughout the Science Center, except for the DOME Theater and Steamship William G. Mather.
