Join Great Lakes Science Center for a season of hands-on learning with Summer of Innovation! On four dates throughout the summer, guests will be able to engage with professionals powering the future of STEM industry across Northeast Ohio. Interactive activities will showcase cutting-edge advances in four thematic areas:
Construction: Saturday, June 14
- Design your own hard hat, take your turn in the operator’s seat, and test your engineering skills!
Technology: Saturday, July 19
- Explore robotics, sensors, and data science as we talk about tech!
Sustainability: Saturday, August 9
- Learn about stewarding our natural resources, investigate alternative energy, and more!

“Coloring Station” (RTA): Unleash your creativity with Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority’s 50th anniversary coloring book!
“Touch a Truck” (Republic Services): Get a closer look at the machines that keep our communities waste-free.
“Microplastics Microscope” (CLEANR): Examine microplastics using a microscope, learn where they come from and how we can reduce them.
“IEEE Engineering Demonstration” (Burns & McDonnell): Explore electricity and magnetism through several interactive demonstrations.
“Soil Remediation Exploration Station” (Rust Belt Riders): Investigate the science behind composting and learn about how to make our food system more sustainable.
“Water Sustainability Career Match” (Drink Local Drink Tap): Learn all about careers in water sustainability through a matching game.
