CLEVELAND (May 30, 2025) – Embark on a joyful adventure celebrating the diversity of life on Earth when “Animal Kingdom: A Tale of Six Families’” opens June 1 at Great Lakes Science Center’s Cleveland Clinic DOME Theater.

Meet six families from the animal kingdom, including insects, birds and mammals, and discover some of their incredible abilities. A film for the whole family, “Animal Kingdom” will ignite a passion for the natural world and the creatures that live in it.

Created by writer-directors Paula Grusovin and Amelia McCarten, the film gets up close and personal with a rich cast of animal characters including the offbeat dung beetle, the irresistibly cute penguin, the ferocious crocodile and the wise elephant matriarch. The directors hope that the film will inspire a fascination and appreciation for our fellow creatures.

“Animal Kingdom” explores the complex and traumatic period of time for the natural world that we find ourselves living in, where humans have a substantial impact on the planet. Because of this, it is easy to feel overwhelmed, to disengage, or to not fully appreciate extraordinary scenes unfolding in the natural world around us on a daily basis. Grusovin and McCarten hope that the film will spark a passion for the natural world and the creatures within it, empowering people to celebrate the fact that humans are not separate from the animal kingdom - but a part of it.

“Animal Kingdom: A Tale of Six Families” will screen at noon and 3 p.m. daily, with a 6 p.m. showing on select Thursday evenings. Visit GreatScience.com for ticket information.
