CLEVELAND (August 3, 2022) – Keep your eyes on the sky and don’t blink, it’s time to celebrate Labor Day weekend with Great Lakes Science Center aboard the historic Steamship William G. Mather for the return of the Air Show Deck Party, and the return this year of the VIP experience Family Picnic on the Science Center’s outdoor terrace.
 
On Saturday, September 3 through Monday, September 5, guests can grab a spot on the deck of the ship to enjoy a unique perspective on the high flying performances taking place over the lakefront. The daily hours for the Deck Party event are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and tickets are $21 per person ($19 for Members). Tickets include on and off access to the ship for the day. Food and beverages can be purchased inside the Science Center at the Café (no alcohol is allowed on the ship). Guests should bring their own lawn or camp chair, as seating is not provided. Availability is limited and advance tickets are highly recommended.
 
Parking is available in the Science Center’s attached garage for $9 ($7 for Members). General admission to the Science Center is not included with Deck Party tickets.
 
Guests can also experience the Air Show via a Family Picnic on the terrace that overlooks North Coast Harbor. From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on September 3-5, enjoy family games and activities while the Air Show happens over the lakefront. Tickets include general admission to the Science Center, parking in the Science Center’s garage, plus a lunch buffet from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. including hamburgers (beef and black bean), hot dogs, macaroni salad, chips, dessert and soft drinks. Family Picnic tickets are $75 for adults, $70 for youth (ages 2-12), and $60 for Members (adults and youths).

(Editor’s note: The Science Center will be closed for its annual cleaning and maintenance period from September 6 through 19. The museum will reopen on its fall operating schedule on September 20. Fall hours will be 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. on Sundays. The Science Center will be closed Mondays and for all regular season home Browns day games, as well as the preseason game on August 21. The Science Center will be open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, September 5 for Labor Day.)
