CLEVELAND (June 24, 2022) – Don’t miss the chance to take advantage of FREE general admission for all youth ages 2-12, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, July 9 at the Science Center, featuring the NASA Glenn Visitor Center and special activities presented by NASA’s Glenn Research Center. Guests also will have access to our special temporary exhibition The Science of Rock N’ Roll.
The July 9 event is the first of five free youth days that will be funded through a generous gift from the Joan P. Wenk Charitable Fund over the next five years.
“We are honored to partner with the Wenk family to welcome children and their families to the Science Center,” said President & CEO Kirsten Ellenbogen. “Our free youth days have always been very special occasions. We are looking forward to the great excitement this free youth day will generate throughout the galleries.”
Special activities for Free Youth Day will include a NASA Glenn career panel, space-themed photo booth, a visit from NASA’s EVA the inflatable astronaut, and plenty of hands-on aeronautics and space-related activities.
Guests can also explore The Science of Rock N’ Roll, an all-access backstage pass to the innovations that shaped rock through the years and helped transform it into a powerful force that changed the world. Inside this immersive exhibition, guests can channel their inner rock star in the instruments gallery and get a feeling for the guitar, keyboard and drums, explore the recording experience as they mix tracks and step into the karaoke booth for a turn in the spotlight. They can examine how rock music is composed by learning the science behind concepts such as tone, pitch, key, rhythm, tempo and harmony, and much more!
