CLEVELAND (October 19, 2022) – Get ready for a coming-of-age story from a different perspective when “Sea Lions – Life by a Whisker” opens in the Cleveland Clinic DOME Theater at Great Lakes Science Center on Saturday, October 22.
Actor Sam Neill narrates this heartwarming journey of an Australian sea lion pup named Otto, and the man who has dedicated his life to trying to save her species, Marine Park Ranger Dirk Holman.
“Sea Lions – Life by a Whisker” takes audiences on an epic quest filled with hope, humor and wonder, through the uninhabited wilderness of the Great Australian Bight, to the lush kelp forests off the California coast. Curious, intelligent and playful, the Australian sea lion is one of the most endangered marine mammals on the planet, and this family of whiskers needs our help.
“Mr. Neill was a natural fit to join the Whiskers team, and the perfect way to give a voice to an animal that now more than ever, desperately needs to be heard,” said the film’s co-director Amelia McCarten. “We feel so fortunate to have Sam narrate Otto’s story. Apart from being an Australian film icon, he is someone that is already such a champion for our natural world.”
Journey through the vast ocean that connects us all and encounter giant humpback whales, cunning cuttlefish and great white sharks, and find out what it takes to save a species.
