Who:   Great Lakes Science Center

When:     Martin Luther King Jr. Day Free General Admission, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, January 16

What:

It’s been three years since our last in-person day of FREE admission to celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day! Great Lakes Science Center is very excited to bring back this popular tradition for 2023!

In honor of the holiday, the Science Center will offer FREE general admission to all guests from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, January 16.

The Science Center will have special programming throughout the day including live science shows such as Bubblemania and Seeing Sound, hands-on science cart activities where guests can learn about string resonance and invisibility, and more. Employees from NASA’s Glenn Research Center will facilitate an open-forum discussion to brainstorm and gather visitor perspectives on ways to help NASA reach new, more diverse audiences outside of NASA’s traditional community.

General admission at the Science Center includes the NASA Glenn Visitor Center, the Polymer Funhouse (for those 7 and younger) and hundreds of hands-on, interactive science exhibits.

Movies in the Cleveland Clinic DOME Theater will be discounted for the event. Adult and youth tickets will be $5.

Parking is available for a reduced rate of $9 per vehicle in the Science Center’s attached garage. Due to the potential for large crowds, the Science Center’s front drive parking spaces will all be converted to spaces for vehicles with handicap placards or license plates. Additional parking beyond the Science Center’s garage is available in the surface lot north of FirstEnergy Stadium.
